Five Must hvaes of Every College Student

Hey Girl! So I know everyone is going back to school and wondering what they should wear. We want to look cute, but also be comfy. So What are some fashionable items you should have in your closet. Well no need to fear girl I have the five items that will make your wardrobe for school a lot easier. First you should have a pair of cute flats. I found a variety of colors in the Tory Burch flat, but we all know college students must budget for the school year, so I also found a less expensive flat as well. So I thought about Pastry, and why buy Pastry because I’m encouraging you to support other young black female entrepreneurs. So next on my list is a convertible v-neck t-shirt! American Apparel have great t-shirts of all colors, but they are a bit pricy so to find more reasonable tees that come in packs of 3-5 at Target, K-mart, Meijer, or even Walmart, and it does the same job! I actually buy my v-necks from target and dress them up and down. Next there is the hoodied sweatshirt that we love o! so much! It’s perfect for those cool days that you just want to snuggle up too! I’ve listed two “hoodies” that are really cute! I hope you enjoy them! LEGGINGS are a college student must! I don’t know how I would’ve survived without my leggings….uggghhh you would definitely want them to throw on the days where you would like to be very comfortable. And last but not least every girl needs a cute tote bag to put her books in!

80's Cute!

Hey Everyone! So the say before I bought this really really cute t-shirt from TJMaxx and I wanted to wear this shirt to work but I was wondering what would look really good with it! So I thought I would pull out my ripped "True Religion" jeans! I was thinking they would be to thick to wear but I figured it was ok since they had plenty of holes in them. I incorporated my gold "Steve Madden" thong thick sandals to give it a more casual flare. To make it more 80’s themed I had plenty of colorful bangles! I had tons tons and tons of bangles and bracelets on! To dress up my assemble I would add skinny jeans and purple stiletto. Since purple is the color of the season right now! I felt very cute casual with this outfit on!! I absolutely loved it! Know one couldn’t tell me I wasn’t looking good!!!

Flying Fashion!

Hey Everyone! So I know you guys are thinking what in the world is going i this pic! But I wanted to do something different and have more fun and exciting pics. So today's fashion tip is playing around with what works! This look took a lil time to put together, but not everything goes along with white shorts as well as the GREY shrug, so being the fashionista that I am I had to find a clever way to make it work! So I simply just added a mid-color tank top! Not to dark, not to light! But midway! It worked! This is a cute "Starbucks" look! But if you wanna turn it into "Night on the Town" I suggest you adding pumps and a dressy top, but make sure it works well with WHITE!!!

Concert Style

Hey Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while! I've been MAD busy! But anyway when I returned from the South I had to go my friend's concert and I keep bugging myself as to what I was going to wear! I kept changing my mind to this and that! So after 5 options..I finally decided to wear my dark denim "boyfriend" jeans, my white American Apparel dress , my White and Navy striped blazer , and lastly my Brown staked gladiator stilettos! This ensemble was perfect for the concert! It wasn't too much...It was just right! My accessories included 2 bangles (One creme the other gold!), long layered gold necklace, and big gold hooped earrings! This look is already for the "Nite on the Town" but to make it "day casual" I would lose the shirt, blazer, and shoes. Add A white tank top and cute gladiator sandals!

I'm on My Grown Woman

Hey guys! So don’t kill me because I definitely forgot where I wore this out too! I think it was work so let’s go along with that! Lol
Today for work I wore my tan jacket/blazer that I’ve been dying to wear! Can you guys believe this has been in my closet for a lil over two years!! How is that for a classic piece that doesn't go out of style? I threw my Hudson five pocket jeans on w/ the jacket and white tank I wore underneath! I wore two non-matching bangles and my white and gold-HEARTED charm bracelet…. And to top the look off I wore tan businesswoman pumps! Nothing too FLASHYY. I believe is very appropriate for the business casual summers many of your jobs may have! But if this were the fall/winter I would wear black skinny slacks and really cute black w/ a hint of tan stilettos and I think that would be very work appropriate but still very fashion forward! That’s my goal is to help you guys put everyday looks together, but still make them work appropriate. This look made me feel GROWN and SEXY! I felt like a businesswoman who could conquer anything!

Today was A BRIGht DAY!!

Today was a GREAT FaShIoN forward day! It was very chilly outside today…that’s Michigan weather for you! So of course your FaShIoNiStA took an opportunity to wear something caute before it was TOO hott to wear until fall! So…. I wore my peach colored off the shoulder hoodie w/ my favorite skinny jeans! I swear by these jeans! My best friend Tahirah and I LOVVVEEE LOVVVEEE these jeans! We went back and bought a 2nd pair! Lol My main color was gold so I of course I wore my sparkly “Kenzie” shoes w/ the maroon bow dawn atop of the shoe. Next, I added two oversized brightly colored bangles w/ my colorful clutch and my HUGE gold earrings! This is a MAJOR MAJOR RULE!! Don’t have too many colorful items on or added w/ your look…or you will look like a RAINBOW and that would be DREADFUL!! My colors worked because I had three colorful items…such as: 2 bangles and my clutch..

1st Date Ware

Hey guys so today was a fun & anxious day! I went on a date with my friend of five years! Yea I know I shouldn’t be nervous, but I couldn’t help all the butterflies in my stomach. The most frightening part was deciding what I was going to wear on my date! Especially since my friend is very fashion forward...I had to bring my "A" game! But hey that didn’t scare me because as you all know I AM a FaShIoNiStA!! So I decided to wear a dainty linen yellow skirt with a hint of white lined at the TOP! This skirt was a life saver because on a first date you don’t want to be TOO dressed up or TOO dressed down. So I thought a skirt was very lady like and a white tank top wasn’t too much it was just RIGHT! Plus I got to wear my new Jessica Simpson sandals I just ordered off Bakersshoes.comYESSSS WE Love THOSE!!! To add a lil POP FLARe I added a long gold flowered necklace….If I do say so myself, I thought I looked very cute and lady like!! Hey Everyone, no worries this outfit was a lil over $100…including the shoes and accessories!!

Rocker Chic

Hey Guys! So I woke up this morning looking for something cute to wear to work...So I decided to go for a "ROCKER" casual outfit!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this outfit!! I felt so cute all day ;-)

I started by rolling my dark denim skinny jeans up in Memory of GREAT MJ!! I had my white socks on too! The jeans were accompanied by a simple v-neck shirt and a gray vest! All this look needed was a skinny patent leather belt (so that I don't take away too much from the outfit itself). Next, I incorporated a long gold and pink necklace w/ big gold earrings, and I had my GRINGY black chucks on once again!! Of course to top it off (add a lil' Billy Jean to my look) I added my headband w/ the bow on it!

Today you can find my look at Target, Old Navy, Forever21, and Underground Station!

This outfit is perfect for a lunch date!

Until Next time.....Happy Shopping!!

Fashion At the Park

Today was my lil cousin Avery’s bday party and of course she wanted her big cousin Kiera there! So I had to chaperon four GIRLS all around CJ Barrymore’s! I didn’t want my attire to be dressed up because I knew I would be ripping and running all day with the kids! So I finally decided I would wear my new lil Rolling Stones T-shirt I bought from TJMaxx and my Dark Denim shorts from Old Navy, but to top it off I had to wear my grungy black Converse sneakers. To make my outfit POP I wore mismatched bangles, my small hearted Tiffany necklace, and Rhinestone studs.

Today you can find my outfit at TJMaxx (Rolling Stones shirt), Old Navy(Dark Denim shorts), Forever21 (Bangles), Tiffany & Co. (small hearted necklace) Underground (Black Converse sneakers)

I wanted to be fashionable, but not too dressy!

Today I felt like a big sister! I wasn’t too dressed up but I was still fashion forward! I looked as though I fit in with Avery and her friends! Is this an outfit I can dress up and turn into an evening outfit? And if so, how??

If I were to wear this look on a night on the town I would add black skinny jeans and Red stiletto silver bangles and big silver hoop earrings.

No need to fret everyone this look was only a tad less than $65.00!

Flashy But Not Cashy!!

Hey! So I’ve been seeing everyone with these Betsey Johnson Laptop cases and I thought to myself, "those are cute, but I’m definitely not spending like $50.00 for a laptop case!!" Trendy, but Work Appropriate

Hey! I know everyone’s anticipating the blog for today!! I’ve thought all day as to what I am going to blog about! So I thought I would talk about dressing the part for a job interview!! Today at work we conducted interviews for our program so I had to dress up as well! So today I decided to wear a pink button down with seersucker tan mixed with brown pants! Trust me it was
HOTTT FIRE!! I didn’t want to do too much because I was dressing professional for the day, but to make it POP I wore two big bangles one floral the other leopard print. I know it sounds weird with the two together, but with style you have to take risk and learn to MISMATCH. “Matchy Matchy” is never stylish but learning what’s the best fit for your style is what will take you far!

Today you can find my outfit at H&M (Pink Shirt), Kohl’s (Seersucker Pants), Forever21 (Bangles), & Sundance (Boutique in West Bloomfield, MI Loafers)

Today my image said I was a working girl i! I was trendy, but work place appropriate. That’s a good tip to remember a lot of trends are cute but not all of them are appropriate for the work environment.

Sickly Fashion

This morning I woke up feeling kind of sick...The first thing that came to mind was I DON’T WANT TO GO TO WORK TODAY!! So I finally rolled out of bed and walked into my closet and looked and said “uggghhh what am I going to wear today” I want to be cute but not too flashy because I wasn’t in the mood! Yes everyone, it was THAT KIND OF DAY! So after trying on this and that I finally settled on an outfit!! I threw on my favorite skinny jeans, a screen t-shirt, and gray converse. The jeans are from Forever21, t-shirt from Motivation (boutique in Ann Arbor, MI), and converse aka "Chucks" from Underground Station.

So, you may be asking, "How did I come up this look today?" Ummm….Well I just decided I was gonna be cute and casual! Nothing too flashy but still fashionable. Something simple and cute that I could just add my TIFFANY jewelry with, because every girl LOVES Tiffany`s.

This outfit says, just because you're sick doesn't mean you can't be fabulous! So I made it up in my mind that I was still going to be cute!

Now, this outfit can definitely be dressed up. I would add multiple long necklaces to make the shirt POP a little more, keep the jeans and add a really cute funky peek-a-boo chunky stiletto. Also the jewelry would include tons of bangles and big hoop earrings.
